Silk care guide
Cared for kindly, silk softens over time. Here is how we hold ours.
Washing
Hand-wash in cool water (under 30°C) with a gentle silk-safe detergent. Avoid wringing — press gently between two clean towels.
Drying
Lay flat on a soft towel, away from direct sunlight or heat. Never tumble-dry. Silk dries quickly in still air.
Ironing
Iron on the lowest silk setting from the reverse side, while still slightly damp. A pressing cloth helps preserve sheen.
Storing
Fold loosely in your SHYM pouch. Avoid plastic — silk needs to breathe. Keep away from sharp jewellery.
Stains
Blot — never rub. For oil, sprinkle talc and brush off after an hour. For wine, cool water and patience.
